Since 1964, the association has been implementing an improved-seeds production project in potato production governorates (Monofeya, Beheira, Gharbia, Dakahlia) in cooperation with the technical agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture and various research institutions for a purpose of producing local seeds for indigo and perplexing crops. Since 1989, the association in cooperation with the Exporters Union has founded the Egyptian Group for Seed Production for the cultivation of different loops after the summer loop which is grown with imported seeds. The group produced quantities exceeded 50 thousand tons. As a result of opening the door for importation, limiting the production of seeds that depend on lands free from brown rot disease, and setting a minimum of 50 acres of the land for seed production, the locally accredited seed production process has stopped.
